Kilas Buku: The Breakdown

I just read the first BA Paris' novel, Behind Closed Doors, a couple days ago. Afterward, I was looking forward to reading her latest book. And I found myself put my face in front of it as long as I can stay. Then here is the story about:
A woman named Cassie Anderson was in a rush getting home from a friend's party. That night was dark and full of rain with thunderstorm. She promised to Mathew, her husband, to not go through a shortcut rural road. In other hand, Cassie got through it because she needed to get home ASAP.

Once Cassie was in the road, she passed a car with a woman inside, the woman who got killed later and apparently she's new acquaintance of Cassie. Unfortunately the woman murder had so much affection to Cassie. She became guilty for not stopping and giving her help. Later on she become worse than that, it's kind of paralyses. She started forget many things and had many silent calls from anonymous. When Cassie decided to see doctor, she thought she had been safe. But she knew she weren't safe, not yet. It really something outside that want to break her down.

The book still aims the same thing like the previous one: readers' mind. At 80 per cent first, Paris throws me to Cassie's mind. It's all about her guilty feeling to the killed woman. Frankly, I almost fall asleep. I have no that patience to read the chronological thing. So that I skim the most part of the story. I think I get enough of Cassie's case and am eager to figure out root of the problem.

Yay, then the story becomes fast-pace at 20 per cent last. Finally Cassie found a cue to find out what really happened to her. Back to her guilt, would she be able to eliminate it as well? Read it out by
yourself then.

I give 3 out of 5 stars. Well, IMHO, it's little bit boring in the middle but you'll be thrilled in the end. :)
